Scraping plates and art. Step One

These are some experiments from the last painting class I took in college (Spring 2007).

I started off with these fairly straightforward drawings of Vietnamese food on top of abstract swaths of color. I was experimenting with painting without the use of brushes, using a plastic card as a scraper to add and remove paint from my surface.

More to come in this series of paintings (playing with more color and layering).
