Scraping plates and art. Step Two

Drawing on paint is a good jumping off point for lots of other experiments.

In this stage I decided to play with the background by building it up with scrapes and daubing till I was happy with the texture rather than the reductive scraped color swaths from my initial paintings. In this piece the green ink drawing is slightly obscured by the background’s texture and color.

Pho and cha gio.

I decided to play with more layering by applying paint over the drawing and background painting. I rather liked the effect and decided to see how far I could take it in my next painting effort.
